Community Career Connection is a community-sponsored workshop and career fair for job seekers. Aside from making contact with potential employers, job seekers can attend various workshops to polish their resumes, refine their interviewing skills and pick up important job search tips. Event is free and open to the public.

Workshops
The workshops will include an HR Panel of Human Resource Management from a cross section of local businesses and industries; Cover Letters: Creating Effective Application Letters. This workshop covers the importance of creating a cover letter, the essential parts of the letter, tips, and the cover letter vs. the resume; Susan Symons, Apprenticeship Program Consultant with Kansas Works Department of Commerce, will conduct a workshop on “Apprenticeship Opportunities” and the virtues of On The Job Training as part of the Pathway to the right career; Will Katz, Regional Director of the Kansas University Small Business Development Center, will present “The Right Start”: learn the key items associated with starting your own company/business and some of the pitfalls to avoid.
At 10:30 A.M. Jay Pryor, Life Coach and Career Consultant, will be giving a keynote talk on a holistic approach to developing your career search in your community.
